A wife who is enabled by her husband to seek out her heart's desire has a very loving man. You'll know if the husband is a real man when the wife reveals her desire a career medicine and not just a lavish clothing item like a mink coat. He puts his wife through medical school thanks to his great love for her. He further notes that a woman, just because she's married, shouldn't think that her life has come to an end. Whatever makes her a better lady and wife, she should be allowed to pursue it. He believes that his wife has become a better spouse and person thanks to her career.

And few people know the depth of the moral and financial support he was ready to stake on this belief. This cheerful man with warm brown eyes excels in hairdressing and even has his own business. The decision demanded so much from the emotions and the pocketbook. The husband and wife had to live 300 miles from each other. Since most coed schools don't put married women on their priority list, the only school that accepted his wife was a medical school for women in Philadelphia.


He could not go with her even if he wanted to for his business was already thriving well. The only baby around Norfolk who is born with a medical degree is their darling little 10 month old daughter, he shares. His wife was three months on the way when she got her degree in medicine. She is now serving her residency in pathology at De Paul Hospital where she also took her internship. Making up for lost time, this lady is also preparing for the arrival of their second child due in just a few months.

While she was a student of medicine, the money problem reared its daunting head at frequent intervals. Kenny was actually keeping up two households. And the telephone bills were astronomical. She'd call him up every time she gets lonesome and when she wonders if everything she was doing at that time was worth all their sacrifices. Those pep talks of her husband's kept her going. She said she couldn't have done it without him.

Flying to Philadelphia is something this industrious hairdresser looks forward to. It has truly been hard for them, shares her husband. She has 40 hours during her on the job training but she could only use 8 hours of it to spend time at home. After the maid leaves, it would be her turn to care for the baby and she cherished it so much. She feels that if every single dad was forced into assisting in caring activities for their children, then they will definitely have a stronger bond.


The dear baby had her first bath in the arms of her father. My husband took over everything as soon as we came home from the hospital, she shares proudly. It seemed perfectly natural for him. When I offered my help, my husband even got so nervous. She avers that she works around a day clock and with a schedule that is nearly regular. I may work longer than most working mothers but then I cherish to dinnertime where I get to spend some quality moments with my husband and child. When you are doing what you love most in the world, you can't ask for anything more.
